Restorative Nursing Assistant (RNA) Certification Program:
Must be a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA); Program focuses on extensive practices and skills to keep a client at his/her highest possible practical, physical, mental, psychological, and functional level of well-being. With a competitive workforce, this certificate will put you on the edge from your peers because you will have learned basic skills not only from your previously basic nursing skills as a CNA, but also additional skills from Physical Therapy (P.T.), Occupational Therapy (O.T.), and Speech & Language Pathology (SLP) in order to be a competent & successful Certified Restorative Nursing Assistant (RNA). This course has been recently re-modified to be 40 hours total (32 hours take-home study materials, and then 8-hours Onsite continued Lab & Lecture). Must pay in advance to receive materials first, then schedule to attend onsite Saturday class for final completion in order to receive certificate upon passing.
RNAs are primarily seen in the Skilled Nursing Facilities, Long-Term Care, Convalescent Hospitals, Rehabilitation & Nursing Facilities, Geriatric-Psychiatric Facilities, etc. It is a very exciting and rewarding field, and the RNA credential will also open the doors to further employment opportunities such as positions as Rehabilitation Aides, Rehabilitation Technologists, Activity Assistants, Medical Assistants, Medical Admin Assistants, etc. It is a credential or status that is higher or directly above a CNA certification. The completion of this course entitles an additional credential to the CNA student (for example: Your Name, CNA/RNA) which adds more value professionally onto your resume & in the healthcare field. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or Contact Hours for 8 hours may be requested for an additional fee.
